페미니즘은 공부할 대상이 아니라고 생각했던 이유.
또한 캠페인에 참여하고 집회에 나가는 것보다도,
일상에서 내가 좋아하고 나를 좋아하는 사람들에게
웃으며 이야기하다가도 입을 다물고 자리에서 일어나 버리는
까다롭고 피곤한 여자가 되는 것이 더 낫다고.
그러한 사람들 중의 한 명이 되는 것.

목숨이 아깝지 않을 만큼 사랑하는 일도,
유능하고 창의적이고 인간미 넘치는 상사도,
옳은 것을 추구하고 취미가 많고 나를 잘 이해해 주는 친구도
이것을 이유로 놓치거나 떠날 때마다 가슴이 아팠지만,
내가 세상에서 가장 좋아하는 것들 중 하나인 사람에 대한 존경심
그리고 존경받기에 충분한 그 사람들을 포기할 때에는 더욱 아프다.
